       A woman was fatally shot in Southeast Washington on Sunday afternoon, and police said they are investigating the killing.

       The woman was found unconscious after a shooting about 4:25 p.m. in the 1300 block of Congress Street SE, said Officer Hugh Carew, a police spokesman.

       A homicide investigation was underway there, police said Sunday evening in a Twitter message.

       No information was available about a suspect or motive.
