According to residents in Clark Street and Dover Street, a large area has been cordoned off by police. Some reports have suggested people have been evacuated from their homes but this has yet to be confirmed.

       One resident said: "Dover street in Rochdale has been cornered off by police and they are evacuating the whole street."

       Images show a Royal Logistics Corps van parked at the scene.

       According to Kit Vickery from the Manchester Evening News, police have apparently "found a grenade".

       Manchester Fire Service were also reported to be at the scene.

       However, the MEN reported emergency services have appeared to have left the area.
