KUALA LUMPUR: CIMB Bank has launched its inaugural customer apreciation week, which will take place virtually from Oct 18 to 23 and showcase an array of inspiring entrepreneurs, culture and entertainment.

       "We are delighted to host CIMB WoWeek! 2021, our inaugural weeklong virtual event dedicated to CIMB customers allowing us to engage and strengthen our relationship with our customers and more importantly, express our gratitude to our customers for placing their trust in CIMB.

       "As a financial institution that highly values our customers and puts their best interests at heart, we continue to stand by them through good and trying times," said CIMB Group chief strategy officer Haniz Nazlan in a statement.

       CIMB WoWeek! 2021 will showcase exciting and insightful talk shows, and feature notable speakers such as Zainariah Johari, head for Arts and Public Spaces at Yayasan Hasanah; Izan Satrina, CEO of the Cultural Economy Development Agency (Cendana); Mohd Nizam Rahmat, CEO of Segaris Art Centre; Kenny Teng, director of G13 Gallery; Scarlette Lee, director of Core Design Gallery; Prabakaran Sangarajoo, deputy CEO of Business and Growth of Touch ‘n Go; and Danny Chua Khi Siang, CEO of Touch ‘n Go Digital.

       The event will also feature homegrown entrepreneurs from a celebrity chef to micro business owners and the co-founder of Malaysia’s first unicorn company.

       These include Chef Wan, Malaysia’s celebrity chef and restaurant owner of De.Wan 1958; Teoh Juin Ee, co-founder and COO of Carsome; William Cheah, founder of the Kembara Kitchen social enterprise; Loi Tuan Ee, founder of Farm Fresh, and Nana Khan, founder of Rotan Lot; Alya Abdullah, owner of Kampong Kravers; Aqim Marzuki, founder of Cattle Queen Ranch; and Shiva Kumar, owner of La Bodega.

       Alumni of the CIMB Islamic-Taylor’s Entrepreneurship Programme, a joint CSR programme between Taylor’s Education Group and CIMB Islamic aimed at developing micro and nano businesses from the Projek Perumahan Rakyat (PPR) communities, will also be making an appearance.

       The alumni lineup that will be featured in this event will comprise Krishna Priya (Salam Mercu Muruku, 2017’s Alumni), Noor Akmar Harun (Welding, 2018’s Alumni) and Norasikin Maakim (Kakkin Perfect Photography, 2019’s Alumni).

       The event will be hosted by Terry Ong, renowned radio announcer and voiceover artist alongside

       Shannen Jade Totten, Miss Charm Malaysia 2021.

       On the last day of the event, there will be sensational live performances by top local artists such as Aina Abdul, Black Hanifah, Hael Husaini, Hazama, Saint Kylo and Dayang Nurfaizah.
