Large number of breeders flock to PAAAFR center

KUWAIT CITY, May 9: The 9-day Eid al-Fitr holiday had a negative impact on livestock and halal breeders, after they fl ocked in large numbers to the Citizen Service Center at the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) today, to receive the subsidized fodder bill, which allows them to receive it from the Kuwaiti Flour Mills and Bakeries Company, according to the procedures followed in this regard, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Citizens or their representatives were at the gates of the company since early morning hours to ensure that they received their quotas early, and went to the Mills Company later. However, the numbers exceeded 400, most of whom are elderly and retired personnel.

They were delayed a lot in accomplishing the task, amid complaints from the visitors who demanded to find solutions to such frequent scenes. According to the citizens, the crowding was expected with the first working day in government departments, after some breeders ran out of fodder during the Eid holiday.

       Aspects

The sources noted that one of the negative aspects of any official holiday witnessed by the country is the accumulation of transactions for the coming days, especially with regard to livestock breeders. They stressed the importance of opening additional offices in areas where the PAAAFR are located, such as Wafra, Abdali, Kabd, Sulaibiya and others, during the next phase, with the aim of facilitating breeders in obtaining their shares of subsidized fodder without hindrances, and to eliminate crowding in Rabieh from time to time.

They pointed to the need to overcoming obstacles in the way of livestock breeders by the authority, in addition to eliminating the black market phenomenon of statesupported fodder and providing it to breeders at reasonable prices, with the aim of maintaining food security and developing livestock in the country, and by intensifying campaigns, tours and sudden raids on markets and centers that sell fodder on the black market in Wafra, Kabd and Jahra.
