IPOH: Police have arrested three more suspects in relation to the rioting incident at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital on Saturday (Feb 19).
Perak police chief Comm Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said the three men were arrested on Sunday (Feb 20) at separate locations and times.
“The first suspect was arrested at Jalan Horley at 11am, while the second suspect, aged 18, was arrested in front of a food court at Medan Kidd around 7.45pm, and the third one, aged 20, was arrested at the district police station at 10.45pm.
“The second and third suspects are friends, but the first one does not know any of them,” he said when contacted Monday (Feb 21).
"All three also tested positive for ganja (marijuana)," he said, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 147 of the Penal Code.
The police had on Saturday arrested a 24-year-old man near a car park at Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab.
A group of men had reportedly got into a heated dispute with security guards at the hospital near the emergency and trauma unit at about 12.20am Saturday.
Video clips of the incident at the hospital have also gone viral on social media.
The incident is believed to have been caused due to a misunderstanding about a romance.
