SHAH ALAM: Police have arrested a local man on suspicion of stabbing his twin brother in their rented house at Kampung Seri Cheeding, Banting, Kuala Langat in an apparent dispute over drugs.
Langat district police chief Supt Ahmad Ridhwan Mohd Nor @ Saleh said the 36-year-old suspect was detained following a report by Hospital Banting on the death of a farmer who was brought in on Friday (March 11).
The farmer was believed to have asked for help from his employer, who then took him the hospital.
However, the victim succumbed to his injuries on the way there, Supt Ahmad Ridhwan said in a statement on Saturday (March 12).
He said police arrested the suspect after he was brought to the Kuala Langat district police headquarters by the victim's employer at 10.45pm on Friday.
Investigations found that the victim had earlier quarrelled with his twin brother, he added.
According to Sinar Harian, the brothers got into an argument at around 4.30pm on Friday, believed to be over sharing syabu, during which the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim in the chest.
The Malay daily report quoted Supt Ahmad Ridhwan as saying that the victim's employer found him unconscious outside the house and covered in blood.
SUpt Ahmad Ridhwan also said police found what was believed to be the murder weapon while checking the scene of the incident.
The suspect has been remanded for seven days until March 18 for investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. – Bernama
