Sky News's Beth Rigby asked Sir Keir Starmer if he was "in denial" as she accused him of ignoring her question at a press conference today.
The Prime Minister announced the 10-year NHS plan after a difficult 48 hours for Labour following his welfare U-turn and the Chancellor's tearful appearance at PMQs.

Rigby asked: "Your first year anniversary has been marked by a self-inflicted shambles over welfare that's left you and your Chancellor wounded.
"You've U-turned on your reforms, your MPs don't trust you and markets worry you've lost resolve on fiscal discipline.
"It's the epitome of sticking plaster politics and chaos that you promised voters you would end.

"You say it's your responsibility, so can you explain to our viewers how you got this so wrong and what you intend to do to rebuild trust and authority in your party?"
Sir Keir began reeling off Labour's "long list of achievements" but did not address welfare.
Sky News's political editor then pressed: "Are you just in denial? You've totally ignored my question?"
The PM replied: "I'm not, we didn't get the process there right but I think it's right that if we're looking at the entire year that we look at all the things we've delivered."

Turbulent week for Labour marks first year in power
Sir Keir Starmer is facing Labour dissent, economic uncertainty and spiralling conflict abroad as he marks a year in Number 10.
The Prime Minister led his party back into power with more than 400 MPs on July 4 last year – clinching a majority just short of Sir Tony Blair’s landslide in 1997.
But with a daunting in-tray of problems including a stuttering economy, creaking public services and global volatility, his political honeymoon period was short-lived.

I was in the room for Reeves and Starmer's show of unity
Ever wondered if it’s possible to deliver a worthy speech about NHS reform while your mouth is locked in a rictus grin?
Wonder no more. Rachel Reeves has done it. And there’s photographic evidence to prove it. In fact, getting the photos and television footage was the whole point.
There was a lot going on when Chancellor made a surprise appearance at a press conference in an east London health centre, where the Government was announcing its 10-year NHS plan.
But the message from her and the Prime Minister was clear - she's keeping her job.

Reeves admits there will be a cost to welfare U-turn
Rachel Reeves said "of course there is a cost" to the welfare changes voted for in Parliament when asked if there would be tax rises in the budget.
Asked whether taxes would be hiked, the Chancellor said: "I'm to going to speculate because the budget will be in the autumn... We'll get a new forecast and we'll do the budget later this year.
"But of course there is a cost to the welfare changes that Parliament voted through this week and that will be reflected in the budget.
"But I'm also very, very clear that that stability that we've been able to return to the economy which has enabled the Bank of England to cut interests rates four times is only possible because of the fiscal discipline which is underpinned by the fiscal rules.
"And we'll be sticking to those because they're absolutely vital for the living standards of working people and also the costs that businesses face."

Reeves insists she is up to job
Rachel Reeves said she is "totally" up for the job of Chancellor and proud of her record.
Asked whether she was surprised that the Prime Minister had not offered her more full-throated backing in the chamber, she said: "I think that people can see that Keir and me are a team.
"We fought the election together, we changed the Labour Party together so that we could be in the position to return to power and over the past year we've worked in lockstep together whether that is on the budget, on the spending review or indeed on our measures to improve public services like the 10-year plan for the NHS."
Asked whether she could reassure people that she was up for the job, she said: "I totally am. This is the job that I've always wanted to do.
"I'm proud of what I've delivered as Chancellor. Look, I think all of your viewers have had tough days... I happen to be on camera when I have a tough day."

Chancellor rejects claims of row with Commons Speaker or another Cabinet member
Rachel Reeves appeared to reject suggestions that her tears at Prime Minister's Questions were related to a conversation with Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle or another member of Government.
Asked whether this was the case, the Chancellor told broadcasters: "No, it was a personal issue, and I'm not going into the details of that.
"It wouldn't be right or fair. People saw I was upset, but that was yesterday. today's a new day and I'm just cracking on with the job.
"My job as Chancellor is to return the stability to the economy, bring investment into Britain, but most importantly to improve the lives of ordinary working people, which is why I'm so pleased that in this first year interest rates have come down four times, saving money for people with mortgages, I've been the Chancellor who's increased the national living wage... so I'm proud of what we've done this last year.
"But is there more to do as a Government? Absolutely there is, and I'm going to get on with that job."

Reeves speaks out after tearful PMQs
Rachel Reeves said "clearly I was upset'' at PMQs yesterday but added that it was her job to be in the Commons "supporting the Government and that's what I tried to do''.
The Chancellor declined to give the reason behind her tears.
She told broadcasters: "Clearly I was upset yesterday and everyone could see that. It was a personal issue and I'm not going to go into the details of that.
"My job as Chancellor at 12 o'clock on a Wednesday is to be at PMQs next to the Prime Minister, supporting the Government and that's what I tried to do.
"I guess the thing that maybe is a bit different between my job and many of your viewers' is that when I'm having a tough day it's on the telly and most people don't have to deal with that."

Lbi Dems brand NHS plan 'most expensive sticking plaster in history'
Responding to the Government announcing their 10-year plan for the NHS, Liberal Democrat Leader Ed Davey said: “Without fixing social care, this NHS plan could be the most expensive sticking plaster in history.
“It appears Labour are borrowing from the Conservative playbook - ignoring the social care crisis because it’s just too hard. But if care and family carers are only ever an afterthought, the Government will never fix the NHS.
“For all the fanfare today, a truly bold plan to deliver the change that people are crying out for would have had care at its heart. Instead, we got a deafening silence.”

Starmer refuses to rule out more tax hikes
Sir Keir Starmer refused to rule out future tax hikes but insisted the "heavy lifting" to repair the public finances had already been done.
Chancellor Rachel Reeves has previously promised she would not need to repeat the £40 billion tax raid she set out in October.
Asked if he would repeat that commitment, Sir Keir said: "No prime minister or chancellor is going to write a budget in advance, but we did really tough stuff in that budget last year.
"We made sure that we stabilised the economy and we took the big and heavy decisions early on.
"And that's what we meant by what we said when the Chancellor said that before, it's what I mean and say again today.
"We've done a lot of the heavy lifting, we've done a lot of the hard yards.
"As a result of that turning our economy around: the fastest growth in the G7 in the first quarter of this year, business confidence at a nine-year high and record investment."

Why did the Prime Minister not back the Chancellor in the Commons?
The Prime Minister claims he didn't realise the Chancellor was upset. Why?
He says: "I was probably the last to appreciate anything going on in the chamber."
But that doesn't answer the question. He was asked about the Chancellor's future by Kemi Badenoch and he didn't commit to keep her in post.

Starmer 'didn't appreciate what was happening'
Sir Keir Starmer says PMQs is "bang bang bang" and he just didn't know what else was happening, when asked why he didn't offer more support to Rachel Reeves.
He said: "I didn't appreciate what was happening because, as you will probably appreciate, PMQs is pretty wired. It goes from question to question and I am literally up, down, question, looking at who is asking me a question, thinking about my response and getting up and answering it.
"It wasn't just yesterday. No prime minister ever has had side conversations in PMQs. It does happen in other debates when there is a bit more time, but in PMQs it is bang, bang, bang, bang. That is what it was yesterday and therefore I was probably the last to appreciate anything else going on in the chamber.
"That is just a straightforward human explanation."

Support for Rachel Reeves in the Commons
Rachel Reeves has "more class than most" Tory frontbenchers - according to Commons Leader Lucy Powell as she defended her "friend". She told the Commons:
"Can I just take this opportunity Mr Speaker, I would rarely do this, to just put on record how proud I am of my friend the first female Chancellor."The very difficult and formidable job that she has been doing, and quite honestly she's got more class than most of the rest of the members opposite on the frontbench I'm sure."

The Government could not be doing more to show that Rachel Reeves is not on the way out. The image they are trying to convey is a Government of action, with Sir Keir Starmer speaking without a jacket and tie.
They realise that for the Chancellor to go now would send out the message to the country, the markets (and the NHS!) that the Government had failed on the economy.

The public are hardly applauding Labour on the NHS
Labour casts itself as the party of the NHS but only a quarter of the public think it is doing a good job improving the NHS, according to Ipsos. Nearly half (46%) last month thought it was doing a bad job.
By setting out a 10-year plan, Labour is essentially asking the country to vote them into office again to finish the job. In a week in which the Government has looked in disarray this is a tough ask.

Tories are not taking the pressure off Rachel Reeves
There's sympathy on a human level for the Chancellor but the Tories are not stepping back from attacking Rachel Reeves. Shadow Energy Secretary Claire Coutinho acknowledged the "superhuman" resilience required in top jobs but said a chief executive who cried in public would not be forgiven. She then compared Ms Reeves to her own party's former PM, Liz Truss, saying:
Keir Starmer and Rachel Reeves are primarily in trouble because they were serially dishonest in an election. Cameron and Osborne, told the electorate they would make cuts and bring down the deficit and they did so. Whatever you may think of them, at the time they took the public with them. Liz Truss did not tell people about a huge spending increase and was punished. Rachel was insistent she was not going to overspend, that she didn’t need to make cuts or raise taxes. She came into office and did the opposite.

Sir Keir Starmer said he did not fully appreciate how upset Rachel Reeves was in the Commons because he was focused on responding to Prime Minister's Questions.
He told Virgin Radio: "I actually personally didn't appreciate it was happening in the Chamber because I came in, I've got questions being fired at me in PMQs so I'm constantly up at the despatch box and down.

PM refuses to confirm if welfare reforms will save money
The Prime Minister refused to confirm whether his welfare reforms will save any money after they were stripped of key elements to prevent a Labour revolt.
Asked on BBC Radio 4's Today programme how much money the welfare reforms will now save, Sir Keir Starmer said: "In terms of getting people back into work, of course, that will be good for the economy, because more people coming back into work and being supported back into work is good for them."
He said the amount saved will be determined after disability minister Sir Stephen Timms completes his review of the Pip assessment process.
Pressed on whether the changes made will now cost the Government more money, Sir Keir said: "We need to finish the Stephen Timms review in order to properly answer that question."
He added: "We will deal with all these matters at the budget and we will set out what we're spending money on and how we're going to spend it.

Sir Keir Starmer said Rachel Reeves was “fine” following her tearful PMQs.

“She’s very resilient and strong is Rachel. She’s driven through lots of change in the Labour Party. We’ve had to change the Labour Party, fought an election together.
“I’ve seen her resilience first hand. I admire it. She’s a really powerful woman, and she’s also very widely respected.
“The sort of messages of concern that have come in over the last 24 hours or so show the great affection and respect in which she is held.
“People are held in respect for a reason, and that’s because people know they’re very good at what they’re doing.”

"When you work as part of a team, when one of them is limping, you help them out. He left without saying anything to her, it looked a bit callous.

Streeting says Reeves will 'bounce back'
Rachel Reeves will "bounce back" after her tearful scenes in the Commons, Wes Streeting has said.
The Health Secretary told Times Radio: "You've seen her in action, you know how tough she is, she will bounce back.
"And we know that from the leadership she's shown during the last year as Chancellor, which have seen interest rates fall four times, seen wages finally rising faster than the cost of living, and have seen the UK with the fastest growing economy in the G7.
"That's a stark contrast to what we saw previously, under previous governments. And it's that leadership, that strength, that judgment, that will see her continue to lead our economy, family finances and businesses from strength to strength for many years to come."

Rachel Reeves will be Chancellor for a "very long time to come", Sir Keir Starmer has told the BBC after her tears at PMQs.
Speaking to the BBC's podcast Political Thinking with Nick Robinson, the Prime Minister denied suggestions the Chancellor was upset by the fallout over the Government's welfare Bill.
Sir Keir said: "That's absolutely wrong, it's got nothing to do with politics, nothing to do with what's happened this week. It was a personal matter for her. I'm not going to intrude on her privacy by talking to you about that. It is a personal matter."
Asked if Ms Reeves would remain in her post, the Prime Minister said: "She will be Chancellor by the time this is broadcast, she will be Chancellor for a very long time to come, because this project that we've been working on to change the Labour party, to win the election, change the country, that is a project which the Chancellor and I've been working on together."

Starmer to unveil NHS plan
A new 10-year NHS plan will "fundamentally rewire" the health service and put care on people's doorsteps, the Prime Minister has said.
Sir Keir Starmer will use a speech in London today to unveil his vision for the NHS, which will focus on "three big shifts" in the way the health service operates.
The blueprint sets out how the NHS will move from analogue to digital, treatment to prevention, and from hospital to more community care.
