Nigel Farage quizzed over his future plans
Nigel Farage is perfectly set up to make a return to frontline politics in 2024, a new poll has revealed. The weekly Techne UK tracker poll for Express.co.uk has put Farage's Reform UK (formerly the Brexit Party) at its highest level since 2019 on 10 percent.
Over the last few months Techne has produced lower results for Reform UK than other polls so its 10 percent for the party led by Richard Tice and founded by Mr Farage is significant.
And with speculation that Mr Farage could be planning a major announcement in the New Year about a possible return to frontline politics, the survey of 1,637 voters suggests he is perfectly poised for a return if he wants one.
Commenting on a two percent rise in the last fortnight for Reform, Mr Tice said: "That is a strong uptick. It confirms someone will have us at 12 percent in the new year."

Already Tory MPs have privately raised concerns that Reform and Mr Farage could use the Wellingborough by-election called after a successful recall petition against former Tory MP Peter Bone could be a perfect stage for a breakthrough.
If Reform continues to build momentum it would also potentially destroy hopes of a Conservative comeback and threaten a wipeout with the vote on the right split.
But the poll did offer the beleaguered Prime Minister Rishi Sunak some hope with the gap between the Tories and Labour shrinking by two points.
The Conservatives were on 23 percent (up one) and Labour 43 percent (down one) still maintaining a 20 point lead for Sir Keir Starmer's party.
If this was a general election result, Electoral Calculus suggests Labour would have a majority of 272 and the Tories would still have their worst ever return of seats on a mere 111.

Meanwhile, the Lib Dems are down one on 11 percent and Greens are still on seven percent.
Michela Morizzo, chief executive of Techne UK, said: "Our last Westminster tracker poll of this year brings a little bit of welcome relief for the Conservative Party just before Christmas.
"The real story once again is focused on Richard Tice’s Reform UK who grow again in national vote share by one point to 10 percent.
"With many commentators saying Nigel Farage will be making a major statement of new political intent in the New Year, perhaps the rise of Reform UK might be even more emboldened in 2024 with Farage support?
"Only time will tell, on behalf of everyone here at Techne U.K. I wish you and your families a very Happy Christmas & Peaceful New Year!"

The polling suggests that 16 percent of the Tory vote in 2019 has switched to Reform with the same number going to Labour.
Just 44 percent of those who voted Conservative in 2019 when Boris Johnson won an 80-seat majority would still vote for the party amid growing disillusionment.
