BARS and clubs across the country were full to the brim with students last night as thousands celebrate the start of their university years.
Hordes of booze-fuelled youngsters excitedly headed out with new pals and partied until the early hours as this year's Freshers Week mayhem continues.

With lectures set to begin in the coming days, freshers put on their glad rags and stepped out for a night of fun.
While some donned bright coloured dresses, others kept their outfits casual with jeans, shorts and trainers.
Dozens were pictured grinning as they strutted to clubs - with one girl snapped giving her pal a biggy back ride.
In Birmingham, huge queues were pictured forming outside venues as eager teens waited to get in.
Nightclubs have once again opened their doors after Covid restrictions put paid to celebrations last year, with many events called off.
Last September, the rule of six was in, meaning freshers were forced to put up with far tamer fun as bars also had to enforce curfews.

After freshers week kicked off Monday night, thousands poured into high streets for the second night in a row on Tuesday - and are set to return tonight.
Freshers events offer new students the chance to meet people and help with getting involved in university life.
But the festivities appeared a bit too much for some, as by the end of the night many were seen perched on kerbs, while others tucked into a takeaway.
