KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 303 people, including many bikini-clad women, were detained following a raid on a wild pool party at a renowned private club here.
The crowd were in the midst of partying when police raided the location.
Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Amihizam Abdul Shukor said police detained 161 foreign men and 55 foreign women along with 31 local men and 56 local women for their involvement in the wild party.
"The raid was conducted at about 10.50pm on Sunday (Dec 5), led by Kuala Lumpur CID deputy chief Asst Comm Nasri Mansor
"It involved 150 officers and personnel from Kuala Lumpur CID and Brickfields district police headquarters," he told reporters at the raid location early Monday morning (Dec 6).
Each party-goer was charged RM60 each and they were invited through social media, ACP Amihizam said.
"The 87 locals detained did not adhere to Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP) and compounds were issued.
"The foreigners detained were brought to Brickfields district police headquarters for further investigation," he said.
The Kuala Lumpur Narcotic Crime Investigation Department personnel also conducted urine tests on the party goers.
ACP Amihizam advised the public not to be involved in any activity that is against the Covid-19 SOP.

ACP Amihizam said the club's manager and the party organiser were issued with RM25,000 compound notices each.
"The 87 locals were issued with a total of RM435,000 in compound notices while RM1,080,000 in compound notices were issued to 216 foreigners.
"Overall, RM1,565,000 in compound notices were issued for the wild party," he said.
