Hotel boss Lilian scooped ￡30,000 playing People's Postcode Lottery when her postcode KA30 8PX, in Largs, Scotland, was picked as a winner. Lilian was asked if she'd sing on receiving her cheque, to which she laughed and replied: "No, I've been told I'm not allowed to do that.

       "I've been told 'no singing, mum - not the song!'"

       Lilian and her husband Willie own the Woodhouse Hotel in Largs and have had a challenging time during the pandemic and the win comes at a perfect time.

       She said: 'It’s been a very difficult 18 months for everybody in the hospitality industry not just us in a seaside town in Largs.

       When we were in lockdown last year it would have probably been our busiest months, whereas this year at least we’re opened up for the summer."

       The couple plan to spend the winnings on a well-earned holiday in January next year to South Africa. Lilian added: "It will certainly help with a holiday in January when we can hopefully get away somewhere. We might go back to South Africa because we like it so much."
