GEORGE TOWN: A group of family and friends welcomed 2022 together away from the city on the misty peak of Penang Hill.
They booked a bungalow, camped on the grounds, and they watched the countdown to midnight.
Real estate negotiator Faryna Ooi, 43, whose family was there, said it was her first of such a gathering and found it more meaningful.
“In the past, we just met up for meals and watched fireworks.
“Since there are no celebrations this year, we decided to stay away from crowded areas and booked our private place here instead.
“The air is fresh and everyone gets to spend precious time together and welcome a better year ahead,” said Ooi on New Year’s Eve.
