A "DEVASTATED" grandad has paid tribute to his four "smart and beautiful" twin grandsons who died in a house fire last night.

       Jason Hoath said Kyson and Bryson, four, and Leyton and Logan, three, will "always be in our hearts" after the boys died in the blaze in Sutton, South London just before 7pm.

       A 27-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of child neglect.

       Jason took to Facebook to share his tribute to the tots, along with a picture of the four.

       He wrote: "I am devastated to say that the horrendous house fire that took place in Sutton last night leading to four children loosing their lives were my amazing, smart and beautiful grandsons.

       "Kyson and Bryson, aged four, and Leyton and Logan, aged three, were taken too soon they will always be in our hearts and thoughts.

       "Boys, I love you forever. Grandad xxx"

       In spite of last night's blaze, brave firefighters rushed inside and rescued the little ones before giving them CPR on the street outside until paramedics arrived.

       Tragically, all four children were pronounced dead when they were taken to hospital.

       Speaking at the scene, deputy fire chief Richard Mills said: “On our arrival there were only the four children that we rescued."

       Their devastated mum Deveca Rose was allegedly out when the "intense" inferno ripped through the entire ground floor.

       One neighbour claimed Deveca lived alone with her boys and was a carer with the NHS.

       Another neighbour said: ‘’Everyone has been really sympathetic. We used to see the mum who is in her twenties in the morning.

       ‘’The boys went to the same school as mine which is Westbourne Primary School.

       ‘’The kids looked really happy. The boys looked really sweet and nothing seemed out of order.

       ‘’I didn’t know them personally. I only saw their mum in the morning.

       ‘’Everyone in this road knew them and the boys were really cute.’’

       A nearby resident added: ‘’The kid's mum and her partner were a well-known couple and they were well liked. They came across well.’’

       Speaking to reporters outside the house today, deputy fire chief Mills added: "Firstly, I'd like to acknowledge the terrible tragedy that took place last night and our thoughts remain with the family, friends and community of the sad loss of life of four young children.

       "Yesterday evening, shortly before 7pm, fire crews attended the scene with eight fire engines and 60 firefighters.

       "We rapidly entered the building with breathing apparatus crews and rescued four children from the building.

       "We immediately carried out CPR resuscitation at the scene.

       "The children were taken to a local hospital. And, sadly, those four children died later that evening.

       "The cause of the fire is currently unknown and we have fire investigation teams on scene at present along with the Metropolitan Police to determine the cause of the fire."

       The fire raged from 6.55pm until 8.35pm, with 60 crew members called out to battle the flames.

       It is understood the PVC-covered front door caught fire - possibly due to Christmas fairy lights - and then erupted in flames.

       Flowers were laid at the scene this morning.

       A message on one bouquet read: "To Kyson Bryson Leyton + Logan. Sleep well. Love Grandad."

       A stuffed toy panda was left with two candles with a note which read: "R.I.P. Sweet little ones."

       A GoFundMe page in honour of the children has raised more than ￡1,600.

       Neighbour Jessica, 17, who set up the page, said: "I didn’t know these lovely boys but they went to the same school as my little sister.

       "I’ve only heard lovely things about them all. They were known as the ‘quads’ because they all looked the same."

       A Scotland Yard spokesperson said: "Four young children have died following reports of a house fire in Sutton.

       "A 27-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of child neglect and remains in police custody.

       "Police were called by the London Fire Brigade shortly after 19:00hrs on Thursday, 16 December to reports of a fire at a residential address on Collingwood Road in Sutton.

       "Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service.

       "The fire was extinguished and four children - two 3-year-old boys and two 4-year-old boys - were recovered from the address. The boys are all related.

       "They were treated at the scene before being taken to two south London hospitals. Very sadly, all four were pronounced dead.

       "Next of kin are aware and will be provided with specialist support.

       "Road closures are in place and emergency services remain at the scene."

       Graham Norton, assistant director of operations at London Ambulance Service, said resources including advanced paramedics, members of the Hazardous Area Response Team and two trauma teams attended.

       “We treated four children at the scene and took them to hospital," he said.

       “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the four young children and everyone affected by this devastating tragedy.

       "Thank you to all the ambulance crews and our colleagues in the fire brigade and police, who all worked so tirelessly to try to save them."

       Residents warned the road was blocked at around 7.20pm - and dozens have now spoken of the "awful" loss.
