       Donald Trump's niece, Mary Trump, has revealed that a five-word comment made by the former US President sent a "chill" down her spine due to its underlying implications. Mary, daughter of Trump's late brother Fred Trump Jr, is an outspoken critic of her uncle and posts videos critiquing his presidency on her YouTube channel, Mary Trump Media.

       In a recent video titled 'Mary Trump's chilling story of Trump's cruelty,' she highlighted a clip from a 2020 Axios on HBO interview where reporter Jonathan Swan questioned Trump about his administration's handling of the Covid-19 pandemic. Trump referred to the situation as "under control", prompting Swan to retort: "How? A thousand Americans are dying a day." Trump responded with: "They are dying. That's true. And you – it is what it is."

       Reflecting on this, Mary explained: "So, why, when Donald said, 'It is what it is', did that send a chill down my spine? Well, for normal people, that phrase means something like, 'Things are terrible. Sadly, there's nothing I can do about it, so it is what it is."

       She continued: "'We just have to accept it and move on'. In my family, that is not at all what it meant. What that phrase meant was, 'Yeah, you're going through a bad time. I could help you, but I don't give a s**t'."

       To illustrate her point, Mary recounted an incident from the day of her father Fred Trump Jr's funeral in 1981. She described how the family had gathered in the 'breakfast room', their usual spot for meals.

       She remembered that they were getting ready to head to the "crematorium-chapel" as she knew her father's wish was to be cremated. However, she overheard the adults discussing a different plan.

       Mary admitted she "wasn't quite ready to talk" to her grandfather, Fred Trump, about it due to his intimidating nature and added that she had little relationship with her aunts.

       She found out that Donald had gone into a room they referred to as the 'library' to take a phone call, so she decided to approach him. Upon finding her uncle, she expressed her concerns and asked if he could persuade her grandfather to reconsider.

       Recalling the encounter, Mary said: "And Donald said to me. He shrugged first and then he said, 'It is what it is, honeybunch', and then he proceeded to make his phone call."
