KOTA KINABALU: Sindumin assemblyman Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob claims he does not have the financial backing to “buy” other Parti Warisan Sabah assemblymen into quitting the party.
The former Warisan information chief, who is now an independent supporting the state government, said he also does not see the benefit of doing such a thing.
The incumbent assemblyman said as a leader, one should not be emotional but act and work professionally.
“I do not want to fight with anyone. We are still friends because there is no permanent enemy in politics,” he said in a statement.
There were allegations by certain Warisan leaders that Dr Yusof had offered RM1mil to each assemblyman to leave Warisan.
On a letter being circulated claiming that he had quit as Sindumin assemblyman following his Oct 8 decision to leave Warisan, Dr Yusof said it was not true and that “I am still the assemblyman”.
He said that it was an undated pre-signed resignation letter as part of the party’s requirement for all their candidates contesting in last year’s snap polls.
