JOHOR BARU: Barisan Nasional's Ling Tian Soon is on the cusp of victory in Yong Peng (N19), according to unofficial results.

       Ling has garnered 7,780 votes compared to Pakatan’s Alan Tee (5,849) and Perikatan's Susan Wong (1,279). Yong Peng has 33,053 eligible voters.

       The crowd at the Yong Peng MCA operations centre were ecstatic as unofficial results rolled in.

       A voter was heard saying, ‘‘It feels like watching the stock market.’’

       Ling arrived at the MCA operations room with his wife at 7.05pm. He was heard saying that Barisan did well in two polling streams in Lam Lee, where they were not as successful in the 15th General Election.
