Qing Xin Ling Leisure and Cultural Village temporarily closed following death of tour guide

       IPOH: The Qing Xin Ling Leisure and Cultural Village has been ordered for a temporary closure following the incident whereby a tour guide was killed after a rock fell on his head on Monday (April 8).

       Ipoh Mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin said the popular tourist attraction would be closed until a police investigation was completed.

       "The closure is in line with the standard operating procedures for the investigation," he said when contacted.

       A 44-year-old tour guide was killed on the spot following the incident.

       Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad had in a statement said that the victim had brought a group of tourists from Vietnam to visit the location prior to the incident at about 11.30am on Monday (April 8).

       On her Facebook page, Simpang Pulai assemblyman Wong Chai Yi had suggested that the premises to be closed down for evaluation works to be conducted by geotechnical engineers.
