SINGER Noraniza Idris says she turned down a Datukship as she was not ready for it, reported Utusan Malaysia.

The singer, affectionately known as Kak Ani, also felt she was not successful enough to be bestowed such an honour.

“I am not a really successful person. If my contribution had been big enough, then I would have considered accepting it.

“As it is, I would have been embarrassed to accept the title. I am not a millionaire who can help others, so please don’t bother offering it to me,” she said after performing at the launch of the Rumahku Syurgaku Scheme.

       > A 25- year-old man was cheated of more than RM200 after paying for a non-existent homestay in Kuala Terengganu, reported Harian Metro.

Terengganu Commercial Crime Investigation Department chief Supt M. Zambri Mahmud said the victim received a message from a man who claimed he was the owner of a homestay in Jalan Pasir Panjang.

“The victim made an online payment of RM221.50 and went to the homestay on the same day, but discovered that it doesn’t exist. He then lodged a police report,” he said.

A Facebook post had gone viral recently about the incident.
