PETALING JAYA: Singer Siti Sarah Raisuddin who had been battling Covid-19 while pregnant with her fourth child, has succumbed to the disease while doctors managed to rescue the baby.

       Accoring to mStar, the singer passed away at 5.13am on Monday (Aug 9) at the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre, with her death marking a great loss to Malaysia’s entertainment industry.

       Siti Sarah, 37, had died without having held her son with whom she was pregnant for eight months.

       Her son was taken from her womb in a three-hour surgery on Aug 6 in order to save his life, and was given the name Ayash Affan.

       News of her death was shared by her husband Shuib Sepahtu, whose real name is Shahmira Muhamad, on Instagram.

       “My heavenly angel has gone forever. I ask you to please give your Al-Fatihah,” he said in an Instagram post.

       The singer of hits such as Semakin was hospitalised on Aug 4 after experiencing severe coughing and a lack of oxygen levels.

       She was put in an induced coma on the same day of her hospitalisation.

       Her entire family was found to be positive for the virus since July 25, and they had tested for the virus when a domestic helper was confirmed to be a positive patient.

       Siti Sarah and her husband were married in 2011.

       Besides Ayash Affan, the couple has three more children - Uwais Alqarni, who is 10 years old; Dzahira Talita Zahra, eight; and Ariq Matin, six.
