LIKE most parents, Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza (pic) is deeply concerned about her young children’s development during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The 42-year-old said her daughter Siti Aafiyah, three, was lucky to have had the pre-pandemic experience of following her to work, watching her concerts and going abroad.
“After the Covid-19 outbreak, everything changed. My husband and I needed to find a different approach to ensure that Aafiyah is not left behind,” she told Kosmo!.
When Aafiyah’s nanny quit after getting married, Siti and her husband Datuk Seri Khalid Mohamad Jiwa hired a teacher to home-school the girl.
“Her mental development has been positive since then, with less focus on electronic gadgets,” she said.
The renowned singer also spoke of how emotional she felt when she took Aafiyah out after a long period of isolation at home.
“She was so excited just being out for a short ride in the car and seeing the many vehicles on the road and the beautiful lights everywhere.
“I was emotional yet sad to see how much staying home for so long had affected her,” she said.
As for her younger child, Muhammad Afwa, Siti said the one-year-old does not understand much yet.
“However, I am thankful to be able to spend more time with my children throughout the movement control order period, and see them grow up before my eyes,” she added.
To commemorate her 25th anniversary in the industry, Siti said she hopes to hold a concert if the situation permits.
> Actress Datin Paduka Eina Azman, 26, has returned to work after recovering from Covid-19, according to Berita Harian.
Eina, who tested positive on Aug 31, was reluctant to cause further delays to the filming of her drama The Hotel, directed by Helmi Yusof.
“Although I’ve been traumatised by the experience, I must be brave and responsible, and return to finish my work. I can’t afford to let the production crew wait for me,” she added.
The actress said she takes precautions and adheres to standard operating procedure when filming.
Fortunately for her, the filming location is only at the hotel.
“Being in an exposed location and going to other places scares me,” she said.
“Alhamdulillah, all the actors and crew are already fully vaccinated,” said Eina, who recently attended a virtual press conference of The Hotel which also stars Mira Filzah, MK K-Clique and Sean Lee.
She is also thankful that her husband Datuk Paduka Kaiser Gurmeet Abdullah, who was a category four Covid-19 patient, has been discharged and is recovering.
