PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 2,166 new Covid-19 infections on Friday (June 10), says the Health Ministry.
The Health Ministry said through data released on its CovidNow portal on Saturday (June 11) that this brings the new total to 4,523,018 cases since the pandemic began.
Of the 2,166, there is one imported case while the remaining 2,601 are local.
The Health Ministry added that there were 1,488 recoveries on Friday, bringing the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 22,751.
Of the active cases, 95.7% or 21,764 individuals are undergoing home quarantine,while 27 people or 0.1% are being treated at low-risk quarantine and treatment centres (PKRC).
Only 4.1% of active cases or 936 individuals needed to be hospitalised, with 24 warded in intensive care units (ICU) throughout the country.
Of that number, 13 require ventilator support.
