KUCHING: Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) candidate for Batu Lintang Voon Lee Shan (pic) has been picked up by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
It is learnt that he was stopped while he was on his way to Kenyalang Park for a campaign event.
It is said that he was pulled over by an unmarked vehicle at about 8.30am Sunday (Dec 12).
PBK election director Raymond Tang, who confirmed this, said four men came out of the car and asked Voon to show his MyKad before asking him to follow them to the MACC office here.
"Only when Voon demanded that they identify themselves did the men say that they were from the MACC.
"The authorities did not say why Voon has been ordered to go to the MACC office," said Tang when contacted.
A two-minute video clip, presumably recorded by Voon himself on the incident, has been making the rounds.
