KUCHING: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has confirmed that Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) president Voon Lee Shan was called in to its office on Sunday morning (Dec 12).
According to an MACC source, Voon was not arrested but called in to have his statement recorded to assist with investigations.
The MACC is expected to issue a statement soon on the matter.
Voon, the PBK candidate for Batu Lintang, posted two videos on Facebook earlier Sunday claiming he was stopped by an unmarked vehicle while driving on his way to a campaign event.
He said in one of the videos that he was under arrest by the MACC.
PBK election director Raymond Thong said Voon was pulled over and asked to go to the MACC office here.
"The authorities did not say why Voon has been ordered to go to the MACC office," Thong said.
