PUTRAJAYA: Police have arrested 761 individuals for various standard operating procedure violations.

       Top of the list of violations is cross border travel without permission/eating at premises (197), followed by not putting on face masks (152), failure to register when entering premises (127), no social distancing (100), ferrying excess passengers (62), failure to abide to movement control order (61), premises failing to comply with SOP (15) and others (47).

       Of those arrested on Wednesday (June 23), 741 individuals were slapped with compound notices, 19 were remanded and one was released on bail.

       The taskforce monitoring standard operating procedure compliance had checked 92,994 premises on Wednesday, including supermarkets, restaurants, factories, banks, government offices and hawkers.

       Also checked were wet markets/pasar tani, places of worship, recreational places and sea transport terminals.

       On Ops Benteng, Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that 14 illegal immigrants were arrested and six land vehicles were seized.

       “Enforcement authorities also detected the presence of 165 boats in Malaysian waters during eight sighting activities,” he said on Thursday (June 24).

       Ismail Sabri also said that 349 individuals had arrived in Malaysia on Wednesday, and all were sent to undergo quarantine at government designated stations.

       Since July 24 last year, a total of 232,385 individuals had returned to the country and were quarantined at 78 hotels and nine training institutes.

       On sanitisation of public spaces, 135 operations were carried out nationwide on Wednesday at 53 red zones, three orange and seven yellow zones.

       Since March last year, 28,946 sanitisation exercises have been carried out at government offices, supermarkets, business centres and public housing areas.
