No pressure or anything, but Monday likely will be Chicago’s warmest day for the rest of the year.

Around the Chicago area, daytime high temps could reach well into the 60s, according to the National Weather Service. The weekend also featured temperate, sunshiny days — but forecasters suggest the mild temperatures soon could be a distant memory.

“Another day well into the 60s will kick off the workweek, with big changes on the way,” according to the weather service.

But by the weekend, Chicagoans can expect “big changes,” according to a social media post by the weather service. It encourages residents to get out and enjoy the relatively warm weather if they can because a strong cold front will push into the area Wednesday night, bringing with it a “short period of soaking rain” Thursday, followed by windy and colder weather.

“Tuesday will be mostly cloudy, with some locations seeing a period of light rain, exiting to the southeast during the evening. Wednesday will be mainly dry aside from maybe some spotty light rain in the afternoon,” according to the weather service.

Many will have Thursday off work or school in honor of Veterans Day, but the weather isn’t going to be great for getting out and about, meteorologists warn. Although the daytime high should still be in the 50s, rain is expected for a good portion of the day in Chicago.

Forecasters are not currently expecting snow, but temperatures overnight Friday could dip to somewhere between 28 and 35 degrees. Precipitation is expected earlier in the afternoon, but the forecast suggests brief rain showers could fall when the temperature is closer to the daytime high in the 40s.
