> A renowned snake catcher in Kerala, India, is now fighting for his life after being bitten during a recent rescue gone wrong, Malaysia Nanban reported.
Vava Suresh, 48, started rescuing snakes while still in school and had rescued thousands over the years.
He would get calls to catch snakes all over the state and would hand over the reptiles to the Wildlife Department.
He had also turned down a job with the department, preferring to continue his service independently.
Suresh was bitten while attempting to rescue a cobra in Kottayam last week.
Despite his injury, he still managed to trap the snake and turn it over to the wildlife officials at the scene before collapsing shortly after.
