A beach on the Amanohashidate sandbar in Miyazu, Kyoto Prefecture, is seen illuminated on July 11, 2021, during an event adding lights and music to one of Japan's three best scenic views. Thirty-five LED floodlights and speakers have been installed on a 600-meter-long section of beach on the sandbar's Miyazu Bay side. The lights, among them colored blue, red, green and yellow are the work of lighting designer Shiho Nagamachi, and they move to original music composed by pianist and Kyoto Prefecture native Mamiko Hirai. The free event will take place nightly from 7:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. until Sept. 30.
