Junya Ogawa

       Junya Ogawa, 50, of the main opposition Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan, secured victory after defeating former digital minister Takuya Hirai, 63, and another candidate in the Kagawa No. 1 constituency in the Oct. 31 House of Representatives election.

       Ogawa, a former lower house member, earned nationwide recognition after a documentary film featuring him was released in 2020.
