KOTA KINABALU: Starting today, travellers arriving from 11 countries – the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Norway, France, Canada, Denmark, Nigeria, United States, India and Pakistan – will have to undergo mandatory quarantine.
Sabah Covid-19 spokesman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjin (pic) said all travellers from these countries arriving via international flights and who intend to come to Sabah or are on their way back to Sabah would go through a mandatory seven days’ quarantine in Kuala Lumpur before being allowed to continue their journey to Sabah.
“Foreign nationals who do not have a special exemption to enter Sabah must also apply for permission from the Chief Minister’s Department (Internal Security Division) to enter the state,” he said yesterday.
On the state’s Covid-19 status, Masidi said the daily cases rose slightly to 125, a day after it recorded its lowest figure of 108 cases in eight months.
He said the rising numbers were mainly from the west coast group-of-four districts – Tuaran (23), Kota Kinabalu (23), Kota Belud (19) and Ranau (eight).
Masidi said eight other districts had zero cases.
