KUALA LUMPUR: The enhanced movement control order (EMCO) will be in enforced at several localities in Kelantan, and Sabah from Tuesday (July 6).
Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said in Kelantan, the Kuarters Ladang Lepan Kabu (A & B) and a portion of Kampung Pahi (bordering the Kuarters Ladang Lepan Kabu), Kuala Krai, Kelantan would be placed under EMCO.
"A total of 80 individuals were screened and 18 cases were recorded.
"Meanwhile Kampung Jambatan Baru, Membakut, Beaufort as well as Blok 6, Kampung Titingan, Tawau, at Sabah will be placed under EMCO from Tuesday as well," he said in a statement on Sunday (July 4).
He said at Kampung Jambatan Baru, 20 screenings were conducted with 17 positive cases recorded – a 85% positivity rate.
"At Kampung Titingan, 17 screenings were conducted with nine cases detected, showing a positivity rate of 52.94% there.
"After a risk assessment, the government agreed to implement the EMCO at these localities from July 6 to 19," he said.
Meanwhile, the EMCO at Kampung Jaya Baru, Kunak, Sabah which was scheduled to end on July 5, will be extended, said Ismail Sabri.
"To date, 529 screenings were conducted there with 46 cases detected. The Health Ministry also confirmed that cases are still spreading within the community.
"The EMCO at Kampung Serudung Baru, Tawau, Sabah which was also scheduled to end on July 5 would also be extended.
"186 screenings were conducted there with 65 cases detected," he said, adding that the EMCO would be extended to July 19 at these two localities.
