Volodymyr Zelensky said he would not recognise a peace deal drafted without Ukraine as European leaders gather in Paris for emergency talks.

       The Ukrainian president will travel to Saudi Arabia on Wednesday following US-Russia peace talks in Riyadh tomorrow. Mr Zelensky maintained he will not engage with these discussions as he was not invited.

       He said: "Ukraine will not take part. Ukraine did not know anything about it. Ukraine regards any negotiations on Ukraine without Ukraine as ones that have no result, and we cannot recognise … any agreements about us without us."

       This comes as European leaders attend emergency meetings in Paris today, discussing the nearly three-year-long war and the continent's security.

       Sir Keir Starmer reportedly agreed to attend the meetings late on Sunday, calling it a "once-in-a-generation moment for our national security".
