       KUWAIT CITY, June 18: The Environment Public Authority, in collaboration with the Environment Police, has initiated joint weekend campaigns aimed at curbing encroachments on beaches. Inspection teams affiliated with the authority have been actively working to enforce regulations and raise awareness among beachgoers.

       During a recent campaign at Marina Beach, three violations were recorded, and individuals present were educated on relevant legal provisions and the importance of preserving the marine environment. Nada Al-Dabbashi, the Director of the Inspection Department at the Environment Public Authority, emphasized that encroachments on beaches are strictly prohibited by law, with a financial penalty of 5,000 dinars for offenders. Those causing environmental pollution will also be referred to the Public Prosecution for appropriate legal action.

       Al-Dabbashi further highlighted the authority’s focus on implementing Article 33 of the Environmental Protection Law, which addresses the improper disposal of waste, as well as Article 100, which prohibits the use of banned hunting tools or harming wildlife.

       The authority has received numerous reports concerning these violations, including instances of coal burning or burial. Inspections are being conducted to ensure necessary measures are taken.

       In regard to the involvement of elderly women in these violations, Al-Dabbashi mentioned that the violators are being dealt with accordingly. Cases where environmental impact studies are absent or rejected by the commission are also being addressed by the authorities.
