BEIRUT, April 20 (Xinhua) -- Lebanese Agriculture Minister Abbas Hajj Hassan on Wednesday said his ministry has made plans to help the country's farmers to grow wheat as the ongoing Russia-Ukraine crisis has prompted rapid price increases, the official National News Agency reported.

       Hajj Hassan made the remarks at a conference held in Baalbek in eastern Lebanon, during which he said the ministry plans to provide wheat seeds to farmers who own farmlands with an area between 10,000 square meters and 20,000 square meters.

       The Economy Ministry will purchase their yields at a certain price, Hajj Hassan added.

       Lebanon's ongoing economic crisis is exacerbated by a shortage of wheat because it imports large quality of the commodity from the Black Sea region.
