PUNCAK ALAM: The top floor unit of a shoplot here was destroyed in a fire on Saturday (June 26) night.

       "We received a distress call at around 9.10pm and dispatched four fire engines and a water tanker and 27 personnel to the scene," said Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis.

       "The first unit arrived at the scene at Pusat Perdagangan Alam Jaya 2/7, at 9.40pm.

       "They used the rescue, exposures, confinement, extinguishment, and overhaul (RECEO) concept in their operations," he said on Sunday (June 27).

       He said firemen broke the roller shutters to conduct firefighting inside and managed to put out the fire at around 1.50am on Sunday.

       He said the unit was 80% destroyed in the fire.

       Norazam said the cause of the fire was still under investigation.
