JOHOR BARU: A PAS MP has demanded an apology from the organisers of an event where scantily-clad dancers performed in front of several top Perikatan Nasional leaders.
Kuala Nerus MP Datuk Dr Khairuddin Aman Razali said the performance should have not taken place in front of the Perikatan leaders, who are Muslims.
Khairuddin also alluded that such a performance could affect cooperation between PAS and Perikatan in the ongoing Johor state election.
“It contradicts eastern values and Malaysian society values. At a time when the people are faced with the Covid-19 pandemic, that’s when the people should pray for forgiveness.
“They (the organisers) must immediately come forward and apologise to the people, because it could affect political cooperation when campaigns are heating up,” said Khairuddin on Facebook on Sunday (March 6).
Perikatan has denied being the organisers of the event at the Austin International Convention Centre (ICCC) here on Friday (March 5) night.
A 12-second video shared by Tentera Troll Kebangsaan Malaysia went viral on social media, showing three scantily-clad women dancing suggestively on stage, in front of several unidentified Perikatan leaders.
Perikatan executive secretary Saiful Adil said the event was organised by the local Chinese business community.
On Jan 14, Khairuddin was removed as PAS central committee member. He was also sacked as the PAS syura ulama council secretary on Feb 11.
