KOTA KINABALU: Sabah is expected to announce fresh standard operating procedures (SOPs) for its Covid-19 recovery plan on Tuesday (June 29), says state Covid-19 spokesman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun Masidi (pic) confirmed that the SOPs would only be released after the state government allowed dine-ins and certain contact sports to be allowed from Tuesday.
Earlier on Monday (June 28), Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said that dine-ins for restaurants and eateries will be allowed and barber shops, roadside stalls for vegetables, fish and fruits may operate under Phase One of the state's recovery plan beginning Tuesday.
Non-contact sports like exercising, golf, fishing and cycling will also be allowed.
Manufacturing activities such as rubber, cement and paint, furniture and woodworks would also be allowed and full details for the reopening of these sectors will be announced soon.
On Hajiji's announcement, Masidi advised the public to wait for official statements and not to be taken in by untrue news being spread on social media.
Speculation has been rife since Hajiji's announcement, with some claiming that inter-district travel would be allowed.
