And Mrs Badenoch visited Mr Clarkson’s pub, The Farmer’s Dog, in Burford, Oxfordshire, where she also met with local farmers.
A source said of the meeting: “They discussed the general challenges facing farmers. Tax, regulation and Labour's Family Farms Tax.

“They discussed how you make farming attractive to the next generation so that UK farming can prosper in the future.”
TV personality Mr Clarkson, 64, has been a vocal critic of Labour’s farming tax, branding Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer “a nightmare for farmers”.
Mrs Badenoch said: “A delight to meet local farmers at Jeremy Clarkson’s pub where everything served is produced by British farmers.
“Family farms across the country are now at risk because of Labour’s budget.
“The Conservatives support farmers and will reverse the cruel family farms tax at the first opportunity.”
The Chancellor in October announced that inheritance tax relief for farms would be limited to ￡1million, meaning all assets above that threshold passed down to the next generation would be taxed.
There is a higher threshold of ￡3 million for couples passing on their farms.

The Daily Express has called for Ms Reeves to U-turn on her decision through the Save our Family Farms crusade.
In an interview last month, Mr Clarkson said: “Starmer’s a nightmare for farmers. He doesn’t know what farming is. He doesn’t even eat meat. Dreadful people,” he says. “That’s the problem we’re facing in farming. Nobody understands the first thing about it”.
