'Dread' at Palace! Meghan Markle's next interview slated: 'Desperate for publicity'

In a preview clip published on Wednesday, the Duchess of Sussex opened up to host Ellen about her life as an actress before she met her husband, Prince Harry. She described the battered old car she used to use to travel to auditions at Warner Brothers studio for auditions - the same place the Ellen Show is filmed. She recalled: "I would park on gate three and I would scoot on over and the security guards here would always say 'break a leg, I hope you get it'.

“So driving today was very different."

However, ahead of the interview, royal expert and vocal Meghan critic Angela Levin branded the Duchess of Sussex “ruthless” and “desperate for publicity.”

Ms Levin, dissecting the preview clip made available on Wednesday of the full interview, told The Sun: "Meghan was acting that everything was wonderful and so funny and isn't she sweet and a bit shy.

“And it's not going to work really.”

She claimed Meghan is “trying to be a really natural ordinary girl.

“She's desperate for publicity, desperate for people to watch and see her.”

Ms Levin further claimed the announcement “will spark dread” in Buckingham Palace, with the memory of Meghan and Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey in March still fresh in their minds.

The author of Harry: A Biography of a Prince, said: “I think the palace dread everything she says because she can be so rude.

"The interview with Oprah was bad timing.

       “Prince Harry's grandfather was ill.

“It is all about what is good to her. She's ruthless and she thinks of herself first."

The bombshell interview with US chat show host Oprah was aired the month before the death of the Duke of Edinburgh, aged 99, in April.

The upcoming interview filmed for Thursday’s episode of the Ellen Show comes amid increasingly frequent reports of the Queen’s health.

Her Majesty, 95, held her first audience for weeks at Windsor Castle on Wednesday, welcoming the chief of defence staff, General Sir Nick Carter, to her Berkshire home.

Her Majesty did not attend the Remembrance Sunday service at the Cenotaph after injuring her back just before the event.

A statement from Buckingham Palace said that the Queen was “disappointed” to miss the service, but, “having sprained her back, [she] has decided this morning with great regret that she will not be able to attend today's Remembrance Sunday service at the Cenotaph.”

Prior to this eleventh-hour cancellation, the longest-reigning monarch in history missed a slew of royal engagements, including scheduled trips to Glasgow for COP26 and to Northern Ireland to mark the centenary of its creation.

The Queen also spent a night in hospital in central London on October 20, but returned home to Windsor Castle promptly after preliminary tests.

It was her first overnight stint in hospital in eight years.
