Ms Coste is the mother of Albert's eldest son, Alexandre Grimaldi-Coste. She reportedly claimed Charlene changed Alexandre's room when the pair got engaged in 2010. According to Hello Magazine, the former Air France flight attendant made the comments in an interview with Paris Match magazine in September 2021.

Prince Albert described the comments as being "inappropriate".

The 62-year-old Monaco royal told french outlet Point De Vue: "It was inappropriate, I was furious to find that out."

He also said that he hadn't expected the comments, saying: "She had just informed me that she was going to release something.

"I thought it would be just a birthday photo."

Albert confirmed he was the biological father of Alexandre, who turned 18 in August, just before he was enthroned as Prince of Monaco in May 2005.

The prince has also fathered a daughter, named Jazmin, with real estate agent Tamara Rotolo.

But he only confirmed that she was his daughter in 2006 when she was nearly 16 years old.

According to Hello magazine, the prince had previously said he wanted to protect her identity until she was an adult.

Only the Prince's children with Princess Charlene are in line to the Monegasque throne, as he was never previously married.

Princess Charlene is currently stuck in South Africa due to health issues that have left her unable to fly.

She has been grounded in her former homeland since May, having originally flown out to South Africa to take part in an anti-poaching wildlife mission for the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation.

But when she arrived, the Princess experienced a severe ear, nose and throat infection.

Initially, Prince Albert had said his wife would be home in time for Monaco's national day on November 19.

In a more recent update given to PEOPLE magazine, the prince said that he hopes to be able to travel with Charlene to Dubai as part of a planned royal visit to Dubai's World Expo on November 13.

But he said that there is a possibility this might not happen, saying: "We'll make that decision at the last minute."

The 43-year-old princess has said that she "can't wait to get home" to see her children, six-year-old twins Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella.

Speaking on a podcast recorded in October, Princess Charlene said she misses them "terribly".

Prince Albert told French outlet Point de Vue that the Princess is feeling "much better".
