Officers have descended on a street in Manchester after terrifying reports of a "shooting". Greater Manchester Police was called to Prince Edward Avenue in the early hours.
Footage has circulated on social media of a suspected firearms discharge on the road, the MEN reports. Police in forensics gear remain at the scene with a probe underway.
A statement from GMP added: "An investigation is taking place following reports of a firearms discharge at an address on Prince Edward Avenue, Oldham, this morning (7 May 2024).
"Officers were called to the scene at around 1am, where they were able to confirm that a discharge had taken place. Thankfully, nobody was injured, in what is believed to be a targeted attack with no wider risk to the community."
