IPOH: Perak Umno hopes the Election Commission (EC) will issue the standard operating procedure for the upcoming Melaka state election soon.

       Perak Umno chief Datuk Saarani Mohamad said they would wait for the SOP to be announced before sending election workers to Melaka.

       “As for now, we have yet to receive any instructions from the party (headquarters).

       “I heard that those who are not from Melaka are not allowed to enter.

       “If that is the case, we might just do the campaign via telephone or digital (platforms),” he said here on Tuesday (Oct 19).

       Nomination for the Melaka state election had been set for Nov 8 while voting would take place on Nov 20.
