THIS is the first picture of a man allegedly stabbed to death by a woman inside a property in a sleepy village.

       Police were called to the address in Baltonsborough, near Glastonbury, on Thursday following reports of a serious assault at the property.

       Police and ambulance crews were on the scene within minutes, however, the man was pronounced dead at the scene at 5.30pm.

       A post-mortem examination later concluded he died of a stab wound.

       Although formal identification had yet to be carried out yesterday, police believe the deceased to be Henri Kekkonen, 41.

       Mr Kekkonen, originally from Kitee, in Finland, had lived in the Somerset area for a number of years, according to posts on his Facebook page.

       A 36-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and later charged with the murder.

       Christine Kekkonen, 36, who was registered as living at the same address as Henri, appeared at Bristol Magistrates' Court today.

       An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said: "Henri’s family have been updated following this significant development in our investigation. Our thoughts remain with them at this tragic time and specialist family liaison officers will continue to support and update them."

       Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Lorett Spierenburg said: “Although our work is still at an early stage, we do believe this to be an isolated incident involving people known to each other and that there is no wider risk to the public."

       Kekkonen entered no plea today and she was remanded to appear at Crown Court later this week.
