A man died in Alexandria on Saturday night after suffering an upper-body wound, and police said they have taken a man into custody.
The incident occurred in the 100 block of South Van Dorn Street at the BJ’s Wholesale Club, police said.

The man who died suffered “trauma to the upper body,” police said, but they did not describe immediately the nature of the trauma or how it occurred.
The man in custody was not identified in a preliminary account.
In a tweet, police said they were conducting a “sudden death” investigation and did not specifically link the trauma to the death.
