PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin enjoys the en bloc support of PAS' 18 MPs, says party president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang.
“PAS states its full and undivided support for Muhyiddin as the Prime Minister.
“We also regret the actions which are threatening the political stability of the country, especially at a time when the government is fighting a health and economic crisis affecting the nation,” Abdul Hadi said in a statement on Thursday (July 8).
He also urged the people to support the government’s efforts to fight the pandemic and implement the National Recovery Plan.
Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had said earlier on Thursday that Umno has decided to withdraw support for Muhyiddin as Prime Minister after he failed to abide by terms set by its supreme council when the government was sworn in last year.
Umno has 38 MPs in the 222-member Dewan Rakyat, including nine ministers.
There are 220 MPs out of the 222-seat Parliament at present following the deaths of Batu Sapi MP Datuk Liew Vui Keong and Gerik MP Datuk Hasbullah Osman.
