KUALA LUMPUR: When Anis Dzulaikha Zulkifli learnt that her housemate was Covid-19-positive, she was shocked that the pandemic had hit so close to home.
“All of us who rent rooms in the apartment couldn’t believe it. My housemate had a cough then and she didn’t expect that it was Covid-19. She went to Hospital Sungai Buloh to do a swab test and she was confirmed to be positive,” the 25-year-old said.
Anis immediately went for a swab test and self-quarantined in the apartment for 10 days.
Her test result was negative and she is scheduled for a second test tomorrow.
“There are four of us in the apartment. We decided to let the Covid-19-positive housemate sleep in the master bedroom alone. She has access to a bathroom while we use a separate one. We either sleep in the other rooms or the living room.
“We are always careful and we clean and sanitise the apartment ourselves using spray-on sanitisers. We also make sure that we wear face masks,” she said yesterday.
Anis, who works at a private medical laboratory nearby, has switched to working from home.
