KOTA TINGGI: A 38-year-old has gone missing after slashing four family members, including his wife and mother-in-law, with a parang.

       Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Hussin Zamora said that aside from the two, suspect Mohd Adi Hashim (pic) had also used a parang to slash his wife’s younger sister and teenage brother in the incident that occurred at 7.11pm on Thursday in Kampung Sedili Kecil, Kuala Sedili, here.

       The victims were severely injured.

       “The suspect was said to have gotten angry all of a sudden and started attacking the four victims who were in the house.

       “After slashing the others, the suspect fled the scene in his car.

       “The suspect’s two young children, who were also in the house at the time, escaped unhurt and are with their mother now,” he said.

       He said all four victims – the suspect’s wife in her 30s, mother-in-law in her 50s, sister-in-law in her 30s and 16-year-old brother-in-law were severely injured and were rushed to Kota Tinggi Hospital.

       “All four are currently in stable condition and are receiving ongoing medical treatment,” he said.

       “The case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of up to 20 years and a fine or caning.”
