KLUANG: A 59-year-old man has been killed after he was buried alive while working on an underground water pipe in Renggam here.

Kluang deputy OCPD Deputy Supt Nik Mohd Azmi Husin said the police received a report regarding the incident at KM41.5 Jalan Kluang-Teck Wah Heng at 3.32pm on Saturday (March 9).

"The victim, identified as Rostam Amiruddin Hassan, was welding some metal pipes along with two others.

"The victim was also pinned by some pipes and was pronounced dead at the location later," he said in a statement.

DSP Nik Mohd added that the two others managed to escape unharmed.
