PETALING JAYA: The Administrative and Diplomatic Officers' Alumni Association (Alumni PTD) has voiced support for better integrity among civil servants in the country.
Its president Tan Sri Abdul Halim Ali said the alumni are ready to work with public service leaders to combat internal corruption and improve services.
"We welcome and support the mandate by Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali urging civil servants to reinforce their level of integrity to curb corruption besides improving efficiency and effectiveness in fulfilling the needs and aspirations of the people,” said Abdul Halim.
He added that Alumni PTD thinks the message is timely given that lately, corruption within the civil service has received extensive coverage locally and abroad and said that the matter deserves to be addressed immediately to preserve the image of the Malaysian civil service and the country,
"In line with the National Anti-Corruption Plan, more drastic actions should be taken to ensure efforts to restore the economy of the country affected by the Covid-19 pandemic can run smoothly and without wastage caused by acts of corruption.
"In this context, PTD Alumni is willing to work closely together with public service leaders towards intensifying efforts to enhance integrity and combat internal corruption within public services," he said in a statement.
