KUALA LUMPUR: AmBank Group is eyeing to capture more solar panel system clients by capitalising its partnership with renewable energy players, namely Armani Energy Sdn Bhd and Nestcon Sustainable Solutions Sdn Bhd.

       The two companies will supply solar panels to AmBank’s customers, hence, further complementing the group's environmental, social, governance (ESG) journey by promoting the adoption of green technological advances for greater efficiencies and growth among its customers.

       Group chief executive officer Datuk Sulaiman Mohd Tahir said AmBank has so far given financing of about RM400 million for the installation of solar panel system.

       "The loan exposure is still relatively small at this stage. It's certainly something we want to do a lot more going forward into the future,’’ he said at a virtual press conference today.

       Under this synergy, AmBank is providing a financing scheme of up to 50 megawatt to its solar panel partners, namely Armani and Nestcon that will be offering free solar system installation packages to AmBank customers.

       Nestcon Bhd group managing director Datuk Lim Jee Gin said the collaboration with AmBank will complement its expansion plan into the renewable energy sector.

       ‘’Through the collaboration, it will unlock a new robust revenue stream that rides on the rising demand for solar energy across Malaysia,’’ he said.

       Armani group executive chairman Datuk Seri Bryan Wong Sze Chien said the company envisioned dynamic integration of renewable energy through constant application of innovative sustainable solutions in its various core segments such as construction, property development, furniture, and plantations. - Bernama
