KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) is open to the idea of a watchdog being set up by opposition Parti Warisan to highlight public issues and woes concerning power supply in the state.
SESB chief executive officer Mohd Yaakob Jaafar said the establishment of a Sabah Electricity Watchdog by the political party was welcomed as it could help further improve their services.
"Hopefully, with the existence of the organisation there will be more proposals which can be considered for the progress and improvement of services by SESB.
“We will always strive to provide quality service to all consumers and stakeholders," he said in a statement here on Thursday (Jan 25).
He said that SESB is always open to suggestions and constructive ideas to ensure that it provides the best services to the people.
Mohd Yaakob said that SESB has continuously held dialogues with customers and communities in several districts to receive suggestions and feedback on SESB services.
"Last year, we held a dialogue with the local community and the community leaders in Tuaran, Keningau, Ranau, Pitas and the latest in January 2024 in Telupid," he added.
